«Lighthouse» by Oscar Tuazon marks the 23rd project of the growing exhibition ART FLOW – Art in the Limmat Valley.

The American artist Oscar Tuazon has created an impressive social sculpture on the forest edge in Baden: «Lighthouse» – a sculptural fireplace made of concrete, steel and wood, conceived as a gathering place for people of all ages.

Tuazon, internationally renowned for his participation in the Venice Biennale and the Skulptur Projekte Münster, is among the leading representatives of a new generation of artists engaging with social issues in public space. His works bridge art and architecture, bearing visible traces of construction and use – an open invitation to collective experience.

In Baden too, Tuazon explores the design and transformation of public space. As these areas become increasingly regulated, opportunities for spontaneous encounters are disappearing. With Lighthouse, Tuazon takes a clear stance: the sculpture offers an open site for exchange and invites people, through an archaic gesture, to gather around the fire – to share warmth, dialogue and participation in public life.
